A very warm welcome to my profile! I'm an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist with over 18 years experience, an EMDR Accredited Practitioner and clinical supervisor. I work with individuals presenting with a wide range of issues and I have extensive experience in safely working with trauma, sexual abuse as well as addictions, bereavement and loss.
About me and my practice
Sharing your thoughts and feelings with an experienced counsellor can help you make sense of life circumstances and lead you on a journey of self-awareness and personal growth.
I often use EMDR which can accelerate therapy by resolving the impact of past traumas allowing you to live more fully in the present. In addition to its use for the treatment of PTSD, EMDR has been successfully used to treat: anxiety and panic attacks, depression, stress, phobias, sleep problems, complicated grief, addictions, pain relief and self-esteem.
I also have had a long interest in body psychotherapy and somatic psychology. My counselling practice is informed by the latest research in neuroscience, the fundamental interconnection between mind and body and how trauma impacts the body and the nervous system.

I take the view that people are able to find their own ways of dealing with life's challenges and I encourage you to trust in your ability to make changes and appreciate your own resources. Often people find that the insight and awareness that comes from the counselling process can help them find a fresh appreciation of who they are and new ways of dealing with difficult issues.
